Colonel’s Journal Register, which may be reordered, contains 160 ruled and center-stitched pages (80 sheets). Opens flat so you can write on both sides of the paper. Standard composition notebooks also work well with our journal cover.

Our polished leather is both vegetable-tanned and hand-tanned to a smooth finish. Over time, this special leather develops its own natural character and patina – the more you use this journal, the better it looks.

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

I bought a No. 30 journal few weeks ago. I immediately found a need for another and am delighted this second one and, as always, with all of the Colonel’s gear. The No. 30 is a great size for notes, calendars, travel journals. Lovely workmanship, full grain leather, classic engraved initials. I just bought the No. 30 Journal in black. I am delighted in the design, materials and workmanship. The engraved initials are perfect, delivery fast and flawless. This journal fits the 12 month calendars I pick up at the local bookstore; it certainly adds a lot of class to my daily accounts.
I have been a customer of Colonel Littleton’s for a dozen years and placed a dozen orders. I have never been disappointed. Retired now (sort of), my briefcases on ‘active standby’, the journal has a place front and center on the work table.
