Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.
Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.
I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. I received the package in the mail only three days after I placed the order. I opened the cardboard box (just like any other mailing package) and inside was a second, much finer cardboard, lid box which reminded me of a box similar to the ones used at Louis Vuitton. The emblem was on the front of it and upon opening it, there was an cream-colored white drawstring bag containing the luxury quality leather emissary envelope. It is truly an experience to open this package. Everything from the box, to the bag, to the envelope in all its beauty, to the personalization of a few high quality company photos coupled with a fun short story of childhood, a pleasant surprise of gifts inside, and the most high quality paper pad (a nice creamy off-white color of paper with brass paper fasteners. The paper is of a nicely lined style, equipped with numbers beginning at each line. Absolutely stunning experience. I was like a little kid on Christmas opening this package. Absolutely 10/10 recommend their product.

Before this Christmas, I’d not heard of Col. Littleton, or his leatherworks. Leatherworks that truly are a work of art! The quality and craftsmanship is amazing! I own a few handbags and messenger bags from other leather manufacturers, who quite frankly have gone more towards the mass production route, which as we all know, diminishes quality, craftsmanship, and that person-to-person touch. Upon opening my Christmas gift of The Emissary, I was very much speechless over the beauty of it and the thoughtfulness of the gift. I am an attorney and I dabble as a pencil artist. Legal and sketch pads are quintessential security blankets for a gal like me. Now I am very fortunate to I have such an exquisite and protective means to carry both! If a larger size for carrying 11×14 and 16×20 sized sketch pads were available, you’d have a buyer here! I loved the literature! Reading it took me back to hearing stories from my Pa and my Mama before they passed. The Colonel sounds like a salt of the earth fine fella to sit on the porch or tailgate with and swap tales and gain life wisdom from. We stopped by the store last Saturday (about 1 1/2 hrs out of the way) on our way home from our daughters house just so that we could touch a few products. I was introduced to the Colonel’s line when my mom bought me a portfolio about 10 years ago. At the store my wife loved the Emissary Leather Envelope for the beauty, uniqueness, and the fact that we own an envelope printing company.
