Colonel Littleton designed our leather belt Collection with more than a nod to the military and sportsman’s tradition. When the belt first came out, the general reaction was “Why hasn’t someone thought of this before?”
The uniqueness of this collection of belts is in its’ adjusting feature. The traditional front buckle belt allows only three inches of fluctuation. Colonel’s belt adds another 8 inches, adjusting in one-inch increments. This means that one size fits almost everyone, which also makes it a great gift item.
Here’s how it works. Rather than adjusting and readjusting the belt in the front and messing up the leather, you park it in the middle position, where it belongs, and make any necessary adjustments on the side. That way if you have on bulkier trousers, a heavyweight shirt, or layers for warmth… if you lose a few pounds or, heaven forbid, gain a few… your belt accommodates all these variations nicely.
Colonel has now expanded his offering of the No. 4 Belt to include our popular full-grain, vegetable tanned Tobacco Brown American Buffalo. Aside from being one of the most functional and practical belt collections on the market, this collection looks uncommonly good… especially with khakis and jeans, for which it was designed.

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.
I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. Great looking belt. I got this belt for my son. We traveled to the Grand Canyon this summer and he never found a souvenir he liked. He wanted it to be a western belt from Texas or Arizona but we never found one that he liked. All the way back to Tennessee now, he finds his souvy. In American buffalo. Fitting Great looking belt. I look forward to wearing it for years to come. Bought this one for myself. My son wanted the buffalo. I thought, commemorating our trip out west. I know he will have it for a lifetime and remember the trip he got it on.
Love this Belt the Buffalo is unique it feels softish and smooth love the color and the buckling system…..sorry for the goofy picture but it is what it is and the important thing is I’m satisfied with the belt.
